Small Foraging Basket Workshop

Weave a beautiful little foraging basket from everyday, foraged materials which may differ over the course of the year from yukka leaves to honeysuckle, bramble and even the dreaded bindweed! The aim is to empower you to take an everyday material and turn it into something beautiful and functional. You will be taught simple weaving methods, using tools which can be found in your kitchen drawer and failing that how to make your own. Just like our ancestors, you will learn to make use of what is around you and create something satisfyingly useful and beautiful. We won't necessarily be searching for perfection but rather to immerse ourselves in the learning process, within beautiful surroundings, surrounded by nature. We hope for this experience to be both relaxing and empowering. You will learn that if the mood takes you, you can wander, within a short distance, collect and weave something lovely…

Festive Nature Garlands

The workshop will take place within the beautiful gardens of The Saltmarsh Farmhouse. From there we will take a short walk to collect a few items which can be used to create your festive garland.
All equipment will be provided and the group size will be small to allow for individual attention. You will be carefully guided through each stage of the process ending up with your own wonderful creation. The process will be as important than the product as we immerse ourselves in the meditative process of creating a piece of art from nature.
The campfire will be lit and the kettle will be on for refreshments whenever the need arises including home baked cake.
Please note that during the session you will have time to complete as many items for your garland as the time will allow. More importantly you will have the skills, knowledge and confidence to make them yourself at home.
